A small group of neighbors who couldn't walk past a hungry cat — and the moment that turned into a registered nonprofit.
For over 20 years, a small circle of feeders in Jupiter kept an informal list of outdoor cat colonies, buying food out of pocket and checking in on cats who had nowhere else to turn. As more cats needed help and more colonies appeared, that informal effort outgrew what a handful of volunteers could fund alone.
In 2026, that effort became official: Community Cats of Jupiter Inc., a Florida nonprofit built specifically to support the feeders already doing this work and to reach the colonies still going without.
Becoming a nonprofit means we can accept donations, apply for grants, and build partnerships with food suppliers and rescues — so the cost of caring for these cats doesn't fall on any one person's shoulders.
Feral, friendly, mama or kitten — no outdoor cat in our community should go hungry or suffer without medical intervention.
If a volunteer gives their time and consistency, we make sure the food, supplies and required medical care are covered.
Spay, neuter, and vaccination are essential — but the feeding has to continue every day after.
We run lean, with minimal overhead, so your support goes directly to the cats.
